Alchemy

I can’t blame you

for the alchemy

for the version of you that came to light in those dark nights

You can’t blame me

for the resignation

for the parts that crumbled in me as you carried all the weight

you and I are not to blame,

it was in the “we” that the stomach chemically churned

it was in the “we” that our bodies,

full and fleeting,

grew to ache
